They are collected and unified system of acts and these traditions have been practiced for a number of reasons such as self-defence, law enforcement,  military, competition, entertainment, physical/mental/spiritual development and or to persevere cultural heritage. The different types include MMA, Brazilian Jiujitsu, Wrestling, Muay Thai, Boxing, Judo, Kendo, Krav Maga, TaeKwonDo and Karate.
